CH core is OS, and even things like the HTTP interface are part of the course. So minimal cost to self-host.
Database is completely open-source (Apache 2, 10+ years history in GitHub). Managed cloud offering does not differ feature-wise from the self-hosted version. Self-hosted option does not have any gotchas, if you don’t need a support contract it is completely free.

OSS ClickHouse compatibility on queries and data formats. OOTB data ingress/egress in open formats to support portability if required. Table & Query definitions in plain text files for version control or migration. Recent Series B funding. Also possibly worth noting that Data Sinks out of the platform are also easy to do, which is relevant for BC.
